How It Started
A Carpenter Who Got Tired of Cutting Corners
Marcus Hausis spent his early career as a finish carpenter on other builders' projects. He was good at his craft — but he kept watching homes get rushed out the door with details that weren't right, clients who felt left in the dark, and budgets that ballooned without warning.
In 2004, he decided to do it differently. He started Hausis Builders with three people, a used truck, and a simple promise: build every home like it's your own.
Twenty years later, that promise is still the foundation of everything we do. We're bigger now — a full team of designers, project managers, and craftspeople — but the standard hasn't changed.

Marcus Hausis founds the company with a 3-person crew in Westfield, NJ.
Completes first design-build project — a 4,000 sq ft custom home in Summit.
Expands to a full in-house design team, eliminating the architect-builder gap.
Reaches 100 completed projects. Earns first "Best of Houzz" award.
Launches fixed-price contract model — a first in the region.

Founder & CEO
Marcus started Hausis Builders in 2004 with a single crew and a belief that homebuilding could be done better. Twenty years later, that belief hasn't changed — just the scale.
Diana Reyes
Lead Designer
Diana brings 15 years of residential interior design to every project. She has an uncanny ability to translate a client's vague vision into a floor plan they fall in love with.
Jordan Park
Senior Project Manager
Jordan has managed over 80 custom builds and renovations. Clients love her for her calm under pressure, her obsessive scheduling, and her refusal to let anything slip through the cracks.
Tom Callahan
Lead Carpenter
Tom is the craftsman behind the millwork, cabinetry, and finish carpentry that sets our homes apart. He's been with Hausis since year one and still treats every project like his first.
